Our speaker is Brooke Mascagni, recipient of an AAUW fellowship for postdoctoral studies, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Gender Studies at Texas A & M University- Kingsville. Brooke is currently working in the Women and Gender Studies Department at DePaul University. Her research project  examines the effectiveness of sexual assault policies on college campuses and the most fruitful ways to combat rape culture. In her discussion, she will highlight the ways that social identity markers- such as race, sexuality, and class- shape the political behavior of women which she contends is essential to creating meaningful institutional reform.
