Angeline Gale Scholarship 2022

AAUW Naperville Area is pleased to offer a scholarship of $5,000 to a woman, at least 26 years old, who is seeking an undergraduate degree. Applications are due March 31, 2022.

AAUW Naperville Area established the Angeline Gale Scholarship in 1971 in memory of Angeline Gale, an educator and the founder of our branch. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage women to pursue higher education, even when their progress may have been interrupted for various reasons.

To qualify for the Angeline Gale Scholarship, applicants must:  (a) be women at least 26 years of age; (b) be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited institution; (c) have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; and (d) EITHER (1) be on track to graduate by December of the year the scholarship is awarded if enrolled in an associate degree program, OR (2) achieve junior status by the application deadline if enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program. L&S Inspirational Leadership Scholarship 2022

AAUW Naperville Area is pleased to offer a special scholarship of $5,000 to a woman undergraduate who exhibits strong leadership qualities and abilities. Applications are due March 31, 2022.

Thanks to the kindness of a generous donor, AAUW Naperville Area is offering a special scholarship in 2022, the L&S Inspirational Leadership Scholarship, to support a woman undergraduate who exhibits strong leadership qualities and abilities, as evidenced by the leadership positions she has assumed in her school or in her community, and who demonstrates a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society, both now and in the future. This scholarship will encourage women to take on leadership positions which enable them to affect positive, lasting change in our society and in the world at large.

Qualifying applicants for the L&S Inspirational Leadership Scholarship are women of any age, who must: (a) be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution; (b) demonstrate leadership qualities and currently hold or have recently held leadership positions in school or within the community; (c) demonstrate a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society, both now and in the future; (c) achieve junior status by the application deadline of March 31, 2022, and (d) have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. Other criteria apply.

AAUW National Conference of College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) Sponsorships

Meet the six remarkable young women leaders sponsored by the Branch in 2021.

AAUW Naperville Area has partnered with North Central College and Benedictine University since 2012 to sponsor college women to attend the National Conference of College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL “nick-whistle”). The conference offers leadership training, inspiration and networking.

Woman of the Year Award

Meet our wonderful Women of the Year honorees

Each year AAUW Naperville Area honors a Naperville area woman who has demonstrated an exceptional level of leadership and community service; and who has demonstrated support for the advancement of equity for women and girls. We seek to recognize women who are well-known, and also those who have worked quietly to improve life for others.

Any member of AAUW Naperville Area or the community may nominate someone to be recognized as AAUW Naperville Area Woman of the Year. Complete and submit a nomination form to the address on the form. Nominations for 2022 Woman of the Year are due March 15. The award will be presented at a special event.
