To kick off our new program year, nearly 40 AAUW Naperville Area members and guests gathered for an Alfresco picnic lunch at DuPage River Park on Saturday, September 10. Branch president Barb Vernon emceed, introducing board and group leaders to promote upcoming programs and activities. Tina Hinch spoke about the 1948 Project, a new branch alliance to work to increase the number of women in the computing workforce. And — in a surprise announcement — Mike Hollman thrilled attendees by donating $5,000 for a leadership scholarship honoring former branch president Sue Topp.
