ERA Action Now – Illinois Senate Approved the US Constitutional Equal Rights Amendment, now on to the Illinois House to approve SJRCA4.
The adoption of this US Constitutional amendment is designed to guarantee equal rights for all citizens regardless of sex; it seeks to end the legal distinctions between men and women in terms of divorce, property, employment, and other matters.
On May 8th over 250 women rallied at 11 am in Springfield and talked with representatives. asking for equal rights for all women in the USA. Now it is up to the House to put Illinois on the right side of history. The 1970 IL constitution has an equal rights clause; why not give all women in the USA equal rights by ratifying the ERA?
