AAUW Naperville Area submitted the following statement in support of Illinois Families for Public Schools, Equality Illinois, and fourteen other state and local organizations who held a press conference to get the word out on how some local and national groups are spreading a very dangerous anti-equality, anti-family, anti-equity agenda to communities around Illinois under the guise of “concerned parents” who just want a say in their child’s education.

We ask our members to stay actively involved in issues and groups impacting their local public schools and to speak up individually and collectively when people or groups seek to make changes which do not align with our values.
